Privacy policy
What we collect
When you generate a QR code, we collect your name, email address, intended use case, and the content you encode. We also store a one-way hash of your IP address (never the raw IP), your country (from request headers), and your browser's user agent string.
How we use it
We use your email to deliver your QR code. With your consent, we also send occasional product updates and other Mctaba-related updates, such as news about our training and studio. You can opt out of these at any time by emailing hello@mctaba.com. Aggregated, anonymized usage data (e.g. which content types are popular) helps us improve the product.
Lawful basis
We process your data based on your explicit consent, given when you check the consent box before generating a code. This is compliant with the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing hello@mctaba.com.
Data security
IP addresses are stored only as salted SHA-256 hashes. Data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database with row-level security and encrypted at rest.
